Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of Emirates Red Crescent (ERC), has ordered authorities to provide immediate help and assistance to meet the basic needs of the people affected by floods in Jammu & Kashmir, according to official news agency WAM.
Mohammed Ateeq Al Falahi, Secretary-General of the ERC said, Sheikh Hamdan's directives come in the light of his keenness to alleviate the suffering of the victims and improve living conditions in flood affected areas in J&K.
Jammu and Kashmir has been hit by the worst floods in six decades with the death toll crossing over 200 in flood-ravaged areas.
