Ruling Congress-led UDF in Kerala is facing next month's civic polls with 'full confidence' and the verdict would be a referendum on the nearly five-year old government's performance, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said here today.
Talking to reporters after a meeting of UDF leaders here, he said the Front would achieve a satisfactory victory in the polls to be held on November 2 and 5.
"UDF has full confidence," he added.
On the progress of seat sharing among Front partners, he said discussions would be completed within a week.
"Seat sharing talks are progressing satisfactorily," he added.
Warning that indiscipline would not be tolerated, he said unity was the main strength of UDF.
"Stern action will be taken against persons who violate party decisions," he said.
The CM said all issues regarding polls would be settled by holding discussions at district level.
Meanwhile, Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee President V M Sudheeran attacked BJP's effort to rope in Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam (SNDP) led by General Secretary Vellapally Natesan.
Addressing a State Mahila Congress meet here, he said BJP's move to form a third front in Kerala as alternative to Congress-led UDF and CPI-M headed LDF would not succeed. The unity of secular forces in the state was very strong, he said.
