The team from UK-based Billingsgate Seafood Training School (BSTS) of Fishmonger's company visited fish processing units and quality check laboratories of the university and interacted with the students, KUFOS said in a statement.
Headed by C P Leftwich, Chief Inspector of BSTS, the team reviewed the practical oriented training systems such as Experiential Learning Programme and Rural Agricultural Work Experience being followed at KUFOS, it added.
The meeting discussed ways and possibilities of setting up training programmes to KUFOS students about the new methods in sea-food processing and quality assurance being followed by the European countries, it said.
The Vice Chancellor expressed willingness to initiate a tie-up with the firm in knowledge sharing and transfer of technologies to improve the education system in sea-food processing and allied areas.
