Doli Chairli Taish, who was on his way to Delhi from Nepal, was arrested by the immigration department in Sonauli area on finding that his visa papers had expired, Sonauli check post officer Keswa Nand Prasad said.
Sonauli is located on the Indo-Nepal Border and is a well known transit point between India and Nepal.
A case has been registered and Intelligence Bureau has been informed, Prasad added.
