Accusing it of taking "anti-people" decisions, the Uttarakhand Kranti Dal today withdrew support from the Vijay Bahuguna government in the state and termed its one year tenure as "terribly disappointing."
The party had been at the odds with the government over a number of matters including the domicile issue and making of Gairsain as permanent capital of the state.
The decision, however, will have not affect the health of ruling coalition, which still has 40 MLAs in the 70-member House.
"We have withdrawn our support to the government as its one-year tenure has been terribly disappointing during which it has taken decisions which are anti-people," UKD President Trivendra Singh Panwar said here.
Handing over a letter to this effect to Governor Aziz Qureshi, Panwar alleged that the government was being "insensitive" to the interests of the people of the state.
"The government has cheated people on the issue of both Gairsain and domicile. SIDCUL land scam reflects the level of corruption in the state. Now out of the government, we will go with these issues to the people's court," he said.
When told that party's lone MLA Pritam Singh Panwar is still with the government and a member of Bahuguna Cabinet, the UKD chief said it does not matter as he has already been suspended from the party for anti-party activities.
