An ULFA-independent linkman was critically injured when a grenade exploded in his house at Station Chariali in upper Assam's Sibsagar today, police said.
In the explosion the linkman, identified as Raju Ali lost two of his hands, they said, adding that he was rushed to the Sibsagar Civil Hospital.
Following an anti-ULFA wave after one of its top leaders Partho Gogoi was recently executed, the banned outfit was attempting to make its presence felt by indulging in bomb blasts and other subversive activities, sources added.
