Undertrial murdered by three fellow prisoners

A 39-year-old undertrial who was lodged in Rohini Jail in Outer Delhi was allegedly murdered by three fellow prisoners, police and prison authorities said today.
The deceased, identified as Rajvinder (49) was attacked last evening by three other inmates identified as Aashu, Amit and Manpreet. The incident took place around 5:30 PM in ward number 6 of the prison complex
Prison sources said that he was attacked with improvised knives - sharpened spoons. By the time he was rescued, the trio had severely injured Rajvinder.
He was rushed to LNJP hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 5:30 am in the morning.

Rajvinder, a resident of Swaroop Nagar, was accused in a case of attempt to murder of Jahangirpuri area and was brought to the jail on April 16 this year, prison authorities said.
A case of murder under section 302 IPC has been registered at Samai Pur Badli police station while a magisterial inquiry under section 176 CrPc has also been initiated in this matter.
"It would be too early to comment in this matter as an inquest is underway by a Metropolitan Magistrate," Tihar Prison's spokesperson Sunil Gupta.
"Rajvinder was a witness in a case of murder in which Manpreet was accused. It seems that this was the reason the trio attacked him with an intention to kill," said a police official.
