Teachers of government schools of the district today alleged that the unification and merger of primary and middle schools in Bundi was unplanned and executed in haste.
Protesting the move, the sub divisional branches teachers' associations of the district has sent memorandums to the state's education minister demanding to withdraw the decision.
Senior teacher and Bundi city president of Karmchary Mahasnag Ritesh Sanadhaya termed the exercise of unification and merger of schools as "unplanned and executed in haste".
The set parameters for unification and merger of primary and middle schools with secondary set have not been followed, he said.
"As a protest to unification and merger of schools, all the district branches of teachers' associations today sent memorandums to state's Education Minister Kalicharan Saraf demanding to withdraw the decision," told Kishanlal Sharma, Bundi city president of Rajasthan Shikash Sang (Rastriya).
Meanwhile, District Education Officer Paras Chand Jain, on the other hand, denied all the allegations and said 328 out of total 1,528 schools have been merged and the entire exercise of unification and merger has been done as per the norms and directions of state government.
He said grievances regarding it have also been received from the schools' authorities concerned and would soon be sent to the higher authorities for further action.
The step for unification and merger of primary and middle school aims at quality education and solving the problem of shortage of teachers in government schools, he said.
