Seeking to put an end to a controversy, Union Minister of State for Home, Mullappally Ramachandran, today said he was satisfied with Kerala Home Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan's clarification on some remarks made by the latter in the state assembly recently.
In a brief talk with mediapersons here, Ramachandran said he was satisfied with the clarification."I had close friendship with Thiruvanchoor when we were in KSU (Congress' youth wing in Kerala), he said.
Ramachandran said he had not asked for the inclusion of any names as accused in the 'Chandrasekharan murder case.'
Radhakrishnan, who courted controversy for making certain remarks in the state assembly few days ago on Ramachandran, had clarified that he had not made any critical comments about the Central Minister.
His clarification came in the wake of the Union Minister seeking an explanation through social networking site, Facebook. Radhakrishnan said he had also written a letter, explaining the circumstances of his statement and its background.
"I had not stated in the assembly that Mullappally Ramachandran gave a list of names to be included as accused in the Revolutionary Marxist Party leader T P Chandrasekharan murder case. Also, I had not made any critical comments on Ramachandran," Radhakrishnan had said at Thiruvananthapuram.
His statement in the assembly about Ramachandran's remark on RMP leader's murder case had triggered a controversy with the CPI(M) seeking explanation from both the state and Central Minister.
