University of Madras women team wins lawn tennis event

The University of Madras women team has won the national inter-university lawn tennis tournament by defeating their opponents from Mumbai University.
Sharon of Madras University defeated Nupur Kor of Mumbai University in the finals by 6-2, 6-2, while her counterpart Shree Sai tamed Bharati of MU by 6-0, 6-1 last evening, said a press release issued by the Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS), organisers of the event.
Universities of Osmania and Delhi stood third and fourth respectively with Anushka of Osmania University defeating the Delhi girl Divija.
Noted sports psychologist Bhishmaraj Bam distributed the prizes on the occasion.
