Four persons were killed in two separate incidents in Maharashtra's Nashik district when lightning struck them during unseasonal rains, police said Monday.
Lightning strikes killed three men standing under a tree in Manori village in Dindori taluka and a 40-year-old woman in Chandwad taluka Sunday night.
The deceased are identified as Sagar Gave (19), Anil Gave (32), Rohit Gaikwad (18) and Janabai Giri, a local police official said.
Three cows and a buffalo were also killed when they were struck by thunder bolts in Yeola and Nashik talukas, as unseasonal rain lashed the north Maharashtra district.
The gusty winds uprooted trees at many places, officials said, adding that mango and onion crops was also damaged.
Niphad, Igatpuri, Dindori, Sinnar and Yeola talukas received rains.
