With an aim to provide free legal assistance to farmers in the state, nearly a dozen advocates, under Ashish Kumar Tripathi, today joined the Rashtriya Kisan Manch -- an organisation working for the welfare of the farmers.

Welcoming them, Rashtriya Kisan Manch president Shekhar Dixit said the move by the advocates to render free legal help to farmers was "praiseworthy".

"This is certainly a welcome move, which will go a long way in enabling us help farmers in legal distress," he said in a statement issued here by the manch.

He added that a large number of farmers were unable to pursue their cases in courts.

"As a result, they do not get justice. Now, the advocates, under the banner of the Rashtriya Kisan Manch, will help these famers get justice," Dixit said.

Speaking on the occasion, Tripathi said, "Rashtriya Kisan Manch has been raising various issues faced by farmers. Seeing this, nearly a dozen advocates decided to join the manch and provide free legal help.
