Alleging that the suspended engineer had amassed massive wealth with the blessings of SP and BSP leaders, Bajpai told mediapersons that "the names of all those politicians and bureaucrats who patronised Yadav Singh should be exposed and this can be done only through a CBI inquiry".
"He enjoyed their patronage is clear from the fact that no action was taken against him by the successive governments who instead gave him a chance to prosper," Bajpai said, adding that despite some irregularities done by him in the past, he was not arrested and also given promotion thrice.
Stressing that CB-CID and Lokayukt inquiry against Yadav Singh, a couple of years ago, had given a clean chit, Bajpai asked if action would now be taken against those who wrongfully saved him and those who gave him shelter in the present government.
He alleged that both the SP and BSP have a tacit understanding, saying Akhilesh Yadav who had come to power promising sending the BSP ministers looting public exchequer to jail, has instead put the recommendations against them on the back burner.
Replying to a question, Bajpai said Central government would neither use Article 356 to dislodge the Uttar Pradesh government nor instigate defections but would exert pressure under which it would fall on its own.
Yadav, who was appointed as the engineer-in-chief of Noida authority during BSP supremo Mayawati's regime from 2007-12 had been suspended when Samajwadi Party came to power, but was later reinstated.
