A K Rai was suspended yesterday on the basis of a recommendation made in this regard by Agriculture Minister Manoj Kumar Pandey, an official spokesperson said.
During inspection of the university last month, Pandey had found financial irregularities in various heads, after which he had ordered sealing of the concerned documents.
Financial controller, PWD, Abdul Gani has been asked to probe charges against Rai.
