"Qureshi's remarks are most unfortunate and unbecoming of a senior person like him," a party release, quoting Chairman of the Communications Cell Satyadev Tripathi and Chairman of Disciplinary Action Committee Ramkrishna Dwivedi said.
"UP Congress Committee has taken serious note of his comments made while talking to a section of media yesterday," the party said, advising Qureshi to exercise restraint.
"Whether the party has to enter into an alliance with any party or not would be decided by party president Sonia Gandhi and vice president Rahul Gandhi," they said, referring to Qureshi's remarks here yesterday.
