Chief Secretary Alok Ranjan today directed all Divisional Commissioners and District Magistrates to identify those officials who fail to hold 'Jan Sunwai' (public hearing) for addressing problems of the common man by remaining present in their respective offices during 10 AM to 12 noon, an official release stated here today.
"Despite clear directives by the Chief Minister, the 'Jan Sunwai' programme is not being taken seriously. During the time, officials have to remain present in their offices. But their basic phones are found out of order and their presence is not being verified which is most objectionable," the Chief Secretary said.
