The minister, addressing a press conference here, said as many as 2,000 ambulances would be brought under 'Call 102' service and these ambulances will take a pregnant woman from her house to hospital for delivery and also bring her back under the Janani Suraksha Yojna.
All patients at district hospitals will get free food worth Rs 100 daily. At present, free food is given only to patients belonging to BPL category.
The government would sought services of doctors till 65 years of age on contract basis after retirement.
The minister claimed that the central government has released just Rs 1,500 crore against the demand of Rs 4,500 crore under the NRHM Scheme.
