UP Mahila Cong protests against women crimes in state

Uttar Pradesh Mahila Congress today staged a demonstration at the GPO park here to protest against incidences of alleged crimes against women in the state, including brutal rape and murder of a woman in Mohanlalganj area.
The demonstration was led by president of All India Mahila Congress Shobha Ojha, former UPCC president and MLA Reeta Bahuguna Joshi and in-charge of the state unit, Ansuiya Sharma, a party spokesman said.
Later a 16-member delegation led by Sharma met the UP Governor and submitted a memorandum, demanding effective action on his level to check such incidents.
In its memorandum, the women wing of the party pointed towards alleged incidents of rape and murder, including the one in Mohanlalganj.
