"Samajwadi Party believes in democracy and media is misusing it by making a hue and cry over the law and order situation whereas government, backed by statistics, has already clarified in the Vidhan Sabha that it was okay," Ram Govind Chaudhary, the minister for Basic Education, told reporters here.
"Why media failed to see corruption and crime during the five years of BSP government... I myself have seen the newspapers and electronic channels and know how much truth they show," Chaudhary, who was here to take part in the death anniversary of senior party colleague Shardanand Anchal, said.
Earlier during the anniversary function, Rizvi had stated that officials were working with the mentality similar to that of BSP government's time and creating hurdles in development works.
