Dhurandhar Singh, Executive Officer at Jiyanpur Nagar Panchyat, Azamgarh, said he received a call from SP MLA Abhay Narayan Singh on December 8 demanding that contracts related to development and construction work in the area be awarded to his men.
In a complaint filed with the District Magistrate and police, Dhurandhar said he received a call from the CUG number of the MLA, and demanded security.
He said due to the threat, he could not join duty.
