UP Police not taking action against BJP, VHP leaders: Social

A social activist today alleged that Uttar Pradesh police is dragging its feet in taking action against senior BJP and VHP leaders on his complaint against them in connection of the Muzaffarnagar riots as there is some sort of "match-fixing" between the two political outfits and the ruling Samajwadi Party.
26-year-old Shehzad Poonawalla said he had filed a complaint against VHP leader Praveen Togadia and others for their alleged inflammatory tweets during the communal clashes in the UP town. The Delhi police forwarded it to the UP police two months ago.
"The same petition was accepted by NHRC and they are considering it... Yet UP police is dithering on acting on it. The reason is obvious, they don't want to act against top leadership of BJP and VHP. There is some sort of match-fixing between BJP, VHP and Samajwadi Party," said Poonawalla.
