Ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly polls, state police today reviewed security arrangements of Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and warned action against officers who show laxity in ensuring his safety.
Director General of Police (DGP) Javeed Ahmad chaired a meeting here to review security arrangements for the Chief Minister with the ADG (Law and Order), ADG (Security) and other officers.
"During the Chief Minister's visit, senior officers will coordinate with district officers and ensure his security," the DGP said, adding a team should be equipped with a rope that can be used for controlling the mob.
He said strict action will be taken against officers who show laxity in ensuring security of the Chief Minister.
The directives were issued after a crowd reached the Chief Minister in Agra last week due to inadequate arrangements.
