UP sales officer booked for sale of fake fertilisers

A sales officer of Uttar Pradesh Agro Centre was booked in connection with sale of fake fertilizers at a state-run agriculture shop here.
Chief Development Officer (CDO), Avinash Kumar Sharma informed that a case was registered against sales officer Anand Pal under Essential Commodities Act yesterday, following a complaint by the district agriculture officer.
Based on a farmer's complaint, 134 bags of fake fertilizers were seized from a government shop at New Mandi area two days ago during an inspection raid.
Meanwhile, District Magistrate N C Shukla has recommended suspension of the sales officer.
Police said that they were investigating the matter.
