"A decision has been taken to constitute climate change authority in the state, which is the first one in the country to have such authority. It will be headed by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav," Principal Secretary, Environment and Forest, V N Garg said here today.
The Authority will work on climate change issues and coordinate with different department and institutions for the same, he said.
After preparation of the detailed rules and regulations for the authority by including suggestions of various departments, it would be tabled in the state cabinet meeting within a month for clearance, he said.
