UP village head's husband shot dead over poll rivalry

Husband of a village head was today shot dead by some unidentified persons over alleged poll rivalry in Ashapur village in Jethwara area here.
45-year-old Tribhuvan Patel alias Lallan was shot dead by some unidentified assailants outside his house in Ashapur village this morning, Superintendent of Police, AP Verma said.
The victim died on the spot, he said.
Patel was the husband of village head Sripati, police said.
An FIR has been registered in the case, they said, adding that no arrests have been made so far.
Verma added that the incident might be a result of election rivalry.
