A youth was detained on Wednesday in Uttar Pradesh's Baghpat district after his photographs with a hand grenade and a number of weapons, including rifles, went viral on social media, police said.
"The youth, who posted the photographs on social media has been detained from Bagu village in Baghpat. We are tying to obtain more information from him," Superintendent of Police, Baghpat, Shailesh Kumar Pandey, told reporters.
On whether any of the weapons seen in the photographs, including country-made rifles, were recovered by police, he said no recovery has been made till now and the matter is being probed.
In one of the photographs, he is seen holding a hand grenade, while in two other photos he is seen with a number of fire arms, including pistols and rifles, and bullets of different bores.
Police traced the youth after the photos went viral and detained him.
