Uptick in demand lifts crude palm oil futures by 1.07 pc
Press Trust of India New Delhi Crude palm oil prices were up by 1.07 per cent to Rs 561.80 per 10 kg in futures trade in the evening session today amid pick up in domestic demand and restricted supplies from producing belts.
The exchange remained closed for the morning session on account of 'Mahavir Jayanti'.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude palm oil for delivery in May month moved up by Rs 6, or 1.07 per cent, to Rs 561.80 per 10 kg in business turnover of 464 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in April contracts was trading higher by Rs 5, or 0.89 per cent, to Rs 561.90 per 10 kg in 235 lots.
Analysts said speculators created fresh positions due to pick up in demand in the spot market and a firming trend in the overseas market.
