Filmmaker Buddhadeb Dasgupta said on Monday he loves to bring up the fight of the common man in his works and his latest outing 'Urojahaj' (The Flight) is no exception.
Speaking to reporters after the screening of the film at the Kolkata International Film Festival (KIFF) in the 'Maestro' section, Dasgupta said its protagonist refuses to bow down before the state power.
"Urojahaj tells the dream of a common man to own a fighter plane one day and how the state power tries to throttle his voice, crush his dreams," the multiple national award winner filmmaker said.
He refused to elaborate on the story-line.
"You will come to know about the story after seeing the movie," Dasgupta said.
'Urojahaj' will be commercially released on December 13, Dasgupta said.
To a question, he said, "Yes, some of my films are not released locally after being made with so much effort. It pains me. But that is the call of the producer who sometimes makes impossible demands."
At the 'Satyajit Ray Memorial Lecture' in the 25th KIFF, Sahani said, "Making of films is always an act of courage, without that you can't make a film. You can at best narrate something visually but that is not enough."
