US' Special Envoy for International Energy Affairs Amos Hochstein will travel to India tomorrow on a two-day visit to discuss clean energy investment efforts with key officials, a State Department statement said.
The US fully supports India's ambitious clean energy goals, it said.
Hochstein will discuss with his counterparts the importance of using public finance to leverage private investment if India is to meet its target of 175 GW of installed renewable energy capacity by 2022.
It is complemented by the private-sector led Clean Energy Finance Forum which develops recommendations on policy and innovative financing and investment products.
The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference was held from November 30 to December 12 last year.
