"The United States condemns the attack on the Karachi airport. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims and those who were wounded in that attack," White House Deputy Press Secretary Josh Earnest told reporters.
Earnest, however, refrained from making any comment on those behind this terrorist attack.
"In terms of who was responsible for that attack, I'd direct you to the government of Pakistan for that assessment," he said.
The White House spokesperson also did not comment on the peace talks that the Pakistani government is pursuing with the TTP.
"And in terms of negotiations, that is a strategic decision that will have to be made by the government of Pakistan. And I don't have anything to say about it," Earnest said.
The Obama Administration also offered assistance to Pakistan in investigating the terror attack.
"We have offered assistance to the relevant Pakistani authorities investigating this heinous crime," a State Department spokesperson told PTI.
"The United States remains steadfast in its commitment to the people of Pakistan in their efforts to counter terrorism and build a peaceful future," the spokesperson said, adding that the US joins the Pakistani people in condemning those responsible for this terrorist attack.
