The US today strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Turkey that killed nearly 30 people and said that it stands together with the country against all terrorists who threaten global peace and stability.
"The United States condemns in the strongest terms the terrorist attack today in Istanbul, Turkey, which killed and wounded dozens," said Ned Price, Spokesman of the National Security Council, the White House.
The attack appears to have targeted police forces, he said.
"Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims, their families and loved ones, and to all the people of Turkey. We stand together with Turkey, our NATO Ally, against all terrorists who threaten Turkey, the United States, and global peace and stability," Price said.
Yesterday, Two bombs exploded outside a major soccer stadium in Istanbul after fans had gone home, killing 29 people and wounding dozens. One of the blasts was thought to be a suicide bomber.
