"The private colonisers are advised to take treated water from Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) and close all the registered tubewells used for drinking water supply in the colonies developed by them," Gurgaon Deputy Commissioner Shekhar Vidyarthi said in a press release issued here today.
"This will help stop further depletion of underground water in Gurgaon, which is a matter of great concern for the residents," Vidyarthi said.
The colonisers in Gurgaon have been directed to submit a status report of the basic amenities being provided in the colonies developed by them within a week (by May 7) to remove the shortcomings, he said.
