Fazliddin Kurbanov, 30, was detained in Boise yesterday as part of a federal counterterrorism operation, before being hit with charges regarding offences in Idaho and neighboring Utah.
He was charged with conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization, as well providing support to the same group, the Islamic Movement of Uzbekistan, and possession of a destructive device.
If convicted, Kurbanov could face 15 years in prison for the conspiracy charge and 10 years for possession of a destructive device.
