Vacant SC/ST posts to be filled soon: Kejriwal

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today announced to fill vacant posts reserved for SC/ST category in the government, while paying tribute to B R Ambedkar on the occasion of his 125th birth anniversary.
Speaking on the occasion in the Delhi assembly, Kejriwal said the father of Indian Constitution, Baba Saheb, was the champion of the millions of downtrodden and deprived. He played an important role in drafting India's Constitution, which is a masterpiece and best among all the constitutions of the world.
"We will ensure that all the reserved posts lying vacant of SC/ST in government departments will be filled soon. Their rights will be given to them in true spirit," he said.

He also announced that the process of making SC/ST's certificates in Delhi will be made easier as people have complained that they are facing difficulties in getting certificates.
The CM said his government is dedicated to work towards the welfare of the people and it is their duty to fulfill dream of Dr Ambedkar.
"Salute to Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Let's try to implement the Constitution in letter n spirit. That would be best homage to him," Kejriwal twitted today.

Chief Minister along with speaker of Delhi Assembly, Ram Niwas Goel, paid floral tributes to Baba Saheb at his life size statue installed in the premises of Delhi Assembly.

While, Deputy CM Manish Sisodia paid homage to Ambedkar at the AAP SC/ST Wing's stall on Parliament Street that wore a festive look on the occasion.
He interacted with the volunteers and members of party's SC/ST wing that was formed in December 2014.
Sisodia also participated in a programme held at Chandan Vihar in his constituency Patparganj, to pay tribute to Dr Ambedkar.
Several social organisations, employee unions of banks and other government establishments, publishing companies had set up stall at Parliament Street on the occasion of Dr Ambedkar's birth anniversary.
Hundreds of people thronged the Parliament Street and enjoyed refreshments distributed from many stalls and purchased books and other articles.
