Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) chief Vaiko today urged the Centre to sack Union Minister V K Singh for his dog remark and also wanted strong action against the persons involved in the killing of Dalit children in Haryana.
"V K Singh has made this comment by burying humanitarianism, it was arrogance of power, he must be sacked," Vaiko said here in a statement.
Singh is at the centre of a controversy over his comments that the Centre cannot be blamed if somebody throws a stone at a dog to shield it from criticism for the Faridabad Dalit burning incident in which two children were killed.
Vaiko, a former partner of NDA, accused the BJP government in Haryana of "using caste differences for political mileage" without stopping attacks against Dalits.
"I urge the government to take strong action and punish those responsible for the setting ablaze and killing the Dalit children," he said.
