"The Government of India is doing research to effectively eradicate Japanese Encephalitis and it is providing more support to Odisha government in controlling the JE in endemic areas of the state," Vardhan said.
Vardhan, who is also a former Health Minister, encouraged scientists to come up with translational and applicative research ideas especially on control of cancer and infectious disease like Japanese Encephalitis, Dengue and Chikungunya which is now a threat to the mankind.
He termed the facilities as the best in the country in life sciences sector and exhorted scholars to work with dedication and determination to make the institute a premier one in the country.
