Varun, however, declined to confirm the news.
"I think it would be right for the producers to make the announcement. As an actor I am not in a capacity to talk about my upcoming projects. All I can say is I am excited to work with different people and be part of different films," Varun told PTI.
The film, a thriller, would be directed by Sriram Raghavam.
"We are in the process of finalising things. We would make an announcement soon," Raghavan told PTI, without divulging details.
