Vastra-2014 sees business worth $85 million

The 3rd edition of Vastra-2014, international trade fair on textiles and apparel, which came to close at the Sitapura Exhibition and Convention Centre, 20 kms from here, witnessed this year a business worth USD 85 million.
"The figure is provisional and expected to rise as more information from exhibitors is tabulated by tomorrow," an official spokesman of RIICO and FICCI which organised it jointly said.
RIICO efforts in partnership with FICCI to screen the buyers for quality paid off as there was an increase of nearly USD 15 million in business deal signed this year, he said.
Principal Secretary (Industries) and Managing Director RIICO Veenu Gupta said, "It was a very satisfying moment. I am happy to see that the things went smoothly as per our expectations".

Gupta said, "People have complimented us on the quality of buyers this years and I am glad that what wanted has been achieved," she said, adding that the joint efforts will continue to make "Vastra" better each year.
