Vehicle robbers arrested trying to sell stolen GPS-fitted car

A five-member gang involved in vehicle robberies in the national capital region, was busted while trying to sell a stolen car at Kainran village in Uttar Pradesh.
The arrested, identified as Aseem Khan, Usman, Shaidab, Neeraj and Rahul along with the buyer Shaidab belong to UP and lived in Delhi working as mechanic, painter, driver etc, Deputy Commissioner of Police (West), Ranvir Singh said.
"The five were arrested from Kainran village in Uttar Pradesh when they were selling the vehicle to the buyer, who was also nabbed red handed in the deal. In all, four stolen cars were recovered from their possession," he said.
The stolen car, which belonged to one Gurpreet Singh, had GPS system fitted in it, which helped in tracking the vehicle, the officer said.
"On March 25, Singh informed Tilak Nagar police station about the theft of his car which had GPS system installed in it. Immediately an FIR was registered and a search was started" police said.
"A team was formed and with the help of technical surveillance, the position of vehicle was located. A trap was laid near the position of the car and after some time, three persons approached the car, but on seeing the police party they tried to flee. However the vigilant staff immediately apprehended them," police said.
