Several areas were waterlogged resulting in overflow of drains causing inconvenience to the citizens.
Hundreds of vehicles were moving at snail's pace on main roads due to overflow of rainwater adding to the woes of the commuters.
Routes on Secretariat, Lakadi-ka-pul, Khairtabad, Punjagutta, Ameerpet, Begumpet, Banjara Hills, Jubilee Hills, parts of Hitec City and Gachibowli besides several other areas witnessed heavy traffic jams.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad Police Commissioner M Mahendar Reddy directed all police personnel of law and order police stations to come out on the street and assist traffic police in clearing traffic snarls caused by heavy rains.
