The show was also adapted in a film of the same name and cast last year. The digital series titled 'Play It Again, Dick' will premiere the week of September 15 on CW Seed, the network's digital programming site, reported Aceshowbiz.
Those who are set to return for Rob Thomas' 'Play It Again, Dick' include Kristen Bell, Ryan Hasen and Jason Dohring, who will appear as fictionalised versions of themselves and as their characters.
Enrico Colatoni, Percy Daggs III, Ken Marino and Chris Lowell will return either as themselves, as their characters or both.
The web series focuses on Ryan Hansen's Dick Casablancas as he tries to rekindle his career by writing a spin-off of The CW's cult series 'Veronica Mars' and the recent Kickstarter movie.
