Actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui has hailed "Court", India's official entry at the 88th Oscars in the best foreign film category, as an outstanding movie.
The 41-year-old actor, whose film "Bajrangi Bhaijaan" was in the race for the category, said he is elated over Court's selection.
"I am very happy that 'Court' is India's official entry at Oscars. It is a wonderful film and it is amazing that a very fine movie has been selected. Sometimes the selection is great and sometimes it is not that good but this time it has been a very good choice," Nawazuddin told PTI.
His road drama "Liar's Dice", co-starring Geetanjali Thapa, was the country's entry last year for the 87th Academy Award but the decision to not send his and Irrfan-starrer "The Lunchbox" had created controversy in 2013.
The actor, who will be next seen with superstar Shah Rukh Khan in Excel Entertainment's "Raees", is thrilled to be the new face of Mayur Suitings, which was endorsed by his co-stars.
"It feels nice that a brand that has been endorsed by superstars has chosen an actor this time. Superstars have a wide reach and hence are perfect faces of a brand so it makes me feel that I also have a good reach now. This makes me happy.
"Times are changing... Superstars like Shah Rukh and Salman are doing movies like 'Raees' and 'Bajrangi Bhaijaan' and people like me are getting accepted into mainstream. This is a good thing," Nawazuddin said.
