Kenny Warjri, video journalist of a local cable news channel, succumbed to his injuries before reaching hospital while photojournalist Walton Jyrwa was taken to a Guwahati hospital, police said.
They were going to Garo Hills to cover the district council elections slated for tomorrow.
The accident occurred at a place around a kilometre into the Paikan-Tura road on NH-51.
The driver Gautam Dey also suffered serious neck injuries, police said adding initial reports indicated that the car was over-speeding.
