Vigilance nabs clerk while taking Rs 10,000 bribe

The Vigilance Investigation Bureau (VIB) today nabbed a government clerk posted at auction officers office in Samastipur district of Bihar, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.
Vigilance officials said the culprit Raj Narayan Prasad Yadav had demanded Rs 10,000 from one Ashwini Kumar of Bishanpur Birauli village for not initiating auction process of his property.
"Kumar complained to us. We verified the allegations and found them to be true. A trap team was accordingly constituted under DSP Mohammad Ali Ansari and sent to Samastipur," said vigilance officials.
Yadav was caught red-handed tsking bribe and arrested from his office. He is being interrogated, after which he will be produced before the vigilance court at Muzaffarpur.
