Vigilance nabs revenue employee accepting a bribe of Rs 9,000
Press Trust of India Patna Vigilance sleuths today arrested a revenue employee on graft charge from Buxar, when he was accepting a bribe of Rs 9000 from the complainant.
A Vigilance Investigation Bureau caught one Chandrabhushan Praveen, a revenue employee with Kadsar panchayat of Nawanagar circle of Buxar district, red handed while accepting the bribe for favouring the complainant in preparing a report, a Vigilance department release said.
One Rajesh Kumar Singh, a resident of Mohanpur village under Karakat police station of Rohtas district, had lodged a complaint with the Vigilance department that the revenue employee Chandrabhushan Praveen was demanding a bribe of Rs 10,000 from him for preparing a report to help him.
The allegations were found to be correct during the verification carried out by the Bureau during which the accused Chandrabhushan accepted Rs 1,000 as advance.
A flying squad team was constituted under Deputy Superintendent of Police Maharaj Kanishk Kumar who raided and caught Chandrabhushan Praveen, a revenue employee, red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 9,000 from Nawanagar circle office area of Buxar district.
The accused would be produced before a Special Vigilance Court (I) at Patna after interrogation, the release said.
Altogether 77 persons have been arrested in 70 trap cases laid by the Bureau so far in 2016.
