Vigilance Officials pulled up for failure to probe corruption

Jammu and Kashmir's State Vigilance Commission (SVC) today pulled up its officials for failing to probe corruption complaints and directed them to ensure completion of these enquiries within three months.
"The Chief Vigilance Officers (CVO) and Departmental Vigilance Officers (DVO) have been tasked to ensure completion of these enquiries within three months," an SVC spokesman said here.
The Full Commission chaired by Chief Vigilance Commissioner (CVC) Kuldeep Khoda held a review meeting of CVOs and DVOs.
It expressed concern and pulled up officials for failure to probe corruption complaints and file reports to the SVC, which has set a deadline for them.

As many as 1,327 corruption complaints are pending with CVOs and DVOs of three ministries.
"At present number of pending complaints of corruption with Public Health Engineering, Irrigation & Flood Control Department, Public Works Department and Health Department are 547, 394 and 386 respectively," the spokesman said.

The CVOs and other DVOs were directed to speed up the disposal of complaints pending with them which have been referred from time to time by Vigilance Organization.
They were directed to initiate suo-motto action on complaints and in irregularities.
The Commission said the officials were directed to develop strong internal Vigilance mechanism and work in tandem with Commission to eradicate corruption at different levels.
