An Education department official was arrested here on Thursday by Vigilance sleuths while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from a woman teacher for payment of salary.
According to Deputy SP (Vigilance), Gopal Paswan, a complaint had been received from Shagufta Naz Fatmi, who taught at a government school in the district that she had not received her salary for about a couple of years and Block Education Officer, Sono, Rama Shankar Sahu had demanded a bribe to release her payments.
"A trap was accordingly laid and Sahu was arrested while accepting the bribe at his residence. After interrogation he will be produced before the designated court in Patna before being sent to jail", Paswan told reporters.
