Vigilance sleuths raid TSO office in Jammu; seize records

An anti-corruption body today raided the office of a Tehsil Supply Officer (TSO) over complaints of large scale fraud and embezzlement in distribution of ration meant for public in Doda district, officials said.
A surprise check was conducted in the office of the TSO of Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) department at Thathri.
During the raid, records, including issue register, remittance register, receipts and dispatch registerof food grains and other suspected documents were seized, a spokesman of the Vigilance Organisation Jammu, said.
He said the searches were conducted on the basis of a complaint that large scale fraud, bungling, misappropriation and embezzlement of ration meant for distribution among public in Thathri areahas taken place.

The seized records are under scrutiny, the spokesman said, adding further course of action would be taken into the matter after completion of the exercise.
