A case of suicide was registered by Penamaluru police and copy of the first information report was handed over to the deceased man's relatives on the spot, said sub-inspector Murali Krishna.
The deceased was identified as U Sanjveev Kumar, an auto rickshaw driver.
The 'FIR at doorstep' initiative was launched by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on October 21 here, under which the victims or their relatives do not have to visit the police station as police visit the place of crime and complete the formalities on the spot.
