Gupta, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly, said the AAP government issued a show cause notice to home Secretary S N Sahai for his objection.
"Sahai had said that formation of Commission of Inquiry does not come under the jurisdiction of the Delhi Government. Surprisingly, the government issued show cause notice to Sahai," he claimed.
The BJP leader said that by proposing such a commission, the AAP dispensation was diverting the issue.
A resolution providing for the appointment of the Commission of Inquiry to be headed by a retired Judge was passed in the one-day Special Session, called to discuss threadbare the issue of women security in the city.
The commission will give its recommendations on various issues, including women safety and police welfare.
